Clinical background

Disease: Influenza (“the flu”)

Symptoms: Fever and respiratory symptoms such as cough sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, headache, muscle aches, and often extreme fatigue.
Complications: Febrile convulsions, gastrointestinal symptoms, parotitis, pneumonias, bacterial superinfection

Mechanism of Infection: Infection by direct contact or droplet infection
